Guests at the wedding of Jack Kane and Emma Clarke were the ones that were given the best gift of all.

According to the Daily Mirror, the 23-year-old Kane used his wedding day to announce to his closest family and friends that he was not actually suffering from a terminal illness. Kane had proposed to his girlfriend of three years after being diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his spine.

Because he was unable to walk and suffering from intense back pain, Kane's nurses had to help him to get down on one knee to pull off the proposal.

Thinking that they had limited time left together, the couple rushed their nuptials, marrying only eight days after the proposal at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, England. Kane said that he has always known that he would marry Clarke one day.

Despite the sadness of the diagnosis, the couple wanted to express their love through marriage. But just before the wedding day, the two got the joyous news that Kane was actually not suffering from a terminal cancer diagnosis. Instead, the young man was diagnosed with probable neuromyelitis optica, a genetic disease that causes inflammation in the spinal cord and corresponding optic nerve.

Kane kept the good news between himself, his fiance, and his immediate family. The rest of the 130 guests of the wedding found out when Kane delivered a speech during the reception.

Even though Kane still suffers from a serious and debilitating condition, he is extremely thankful that he has been given this new lease on life and intends to make the most out of it. These sweet pictures of this happy couple should be spread to as many people as possible. Everyone is certainly rooting for the new bride and groom!
