Clayton and Brittany Cook, a couple from Kitchener, Ontario, had just gotten married. Still deliriously happy, they headed to the next stage of their day, taking wedding photos at a picturesque bridge.

At one point, Brittany turned around to find Clayton gone. What happened? He had seen a potential tragedy unfold right in front of his eyes and was determined to ensure that it not end up being one.

According to Euronews, while they had were at the bridge, Clayton had noticed a group of children that were playing in the vicinity. Well, it appeared that they were playing. However, what happened next sparked him into action. One of the boys pushed another one into the river.

Although he did not see how he got in the water, Clayton did notice that there were now two boys on dry land, not three. His eyes immediately darted to the water, and that's where the third one was, struggling to stay afloat. Clayton rushed to his aid. It was at that point when Brittany, who had been getting solo pictures taken of herself, turned to Clayton for an unrelated reason, but, by that point, he was already gone. However, she didn't know what had happened or how serious the situation was and had thought that Clayton had jumped into the water as a joke.

The wedding photographer, Hatt Photography's Darren Hatt, then turned into a news photographer as he caught several dramatic images of the scene at Kitchener's Victoria Park and of the drenched boy walking away as his also-wet rescuer started to get out of the river too. Darren said that the boy was already on dry land by the time he saw what happened, but he caught everything after.

As likely surprises no one, the images quickly went viral as so many around the world were touched by what Clayton had done.

Brittany said afterward that what Clayton did was just who he was and had so much to do with why she fell in love with him and wanted to spend forever with him.

She later told reporters, "That's Clay to me. It's something he would just instinctively do." Meanwhile, the boy did not suffer as a result of what happened other than most likely being shaken up some from the experience.
