An unidentified groom, who was caught on video walking down the aisle with his bride while completely engrossed in his phone, has left social media stunned. Weddings are supposed to be joyous occasions, but this groom's behavior has raised serious questions about his commitment and respect for his new wife.

The video, originally shared on TikTok by user @CynthiaUmunze, has since gone viral and caused a frenzy of outrage online. The uploader, who was identified as a relative by Fox 2 Detroit, had to delete the video because it got a barrage of angry comments. Despite the effort to let the controversy die down, the video was re-uploaded on Twitter on June 3, 2023, where it has reached over 43.9 million views and sparked heated discussions

In the video, the bride could be seen radiantly smiling and graciously acknowledging their guests for being at their wedding ceremony. However, her new husband remained fixated on his phone, barely acknowledging anyone around him.

Viewers were quick to condemn the groom's actions, with many considering it a clear indication of trouble in the marriage. The groom's refusal to put down his phone and his apparent annoyance when the bride requests his attention only fueled the controversy.

Social media users questioned the groom's priorities and suggested that the bride should reconsider this marriage. The commenters made it clear that the groom's actions were disrespectful and inexcusable. Concerns were raised about the bride's well-being, prompting calls for someone to check on her. The overwhelming consensus online was that this behavior was a red flag, signaling potential future problems.

The identities of the couple remain undisclosed, and the date of the wedding is unknown. However, the incident has left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it, both in person and online.

Videographer and photographer Bongani Baloyi of Gigabytes Production in South Africa expressed his dismay at the incident, emphasizing that it not only disrupted the event but also created challenges for professionals trying to capture the essence of the ceremony. Baloyi told News 24 that the groom's incessant phone usage not only ruined the ambiance but also became a major distraction for those working behind the scenes.

The purpose of having a videographer and photographer during the bride and groom's aisle walk is to capture the most memorable moments of the wedding ceremony. As the couple proceeds down the aisle, their interactions with each other and the emotional responses from their loved ones are crucial elements for the documentation of the most important moment of their lives.

The photographer also emphasized the significance of both posed and candid shots, as they contribute equally to preserving the atmosphere of the event. However, in this case, the candid shot of the groom's phone obsession was highly inappropriate and detracted from the beauty and solemnity of the occasion.

To prevent such disruptions, Baloyi reveals that he would always request everyone to refrain from using mobile phones during important moments of a wedding. He collaborates with the wedding planner and emcee in advance to ensure that the aisle remains clear during the processional. Baloyi goes a step further by asking the best man and maid of honor to hold onto their phones, thus reducing potential stress for the bride and groom.

Unfortunately, this incident has now become the subject of countless memes circulating worldwide. What should have been a special and heartfelt moment has been overshadowed by the groom's phone addiction, causing a wave of disappointment and frustration for those involved.
