If you have a pet, you know the warmth that that animal gives you and your family. There's never a dull moment when you have a pet such as a dog around. They will keep you entertained with their simple activities. One family nearly lost this joy when their dog accidentally ate raisins at a public park.

It was a day like any other, and Steph decided to go for a walk with her puppy, Bella, and her 3 young kids. They went to a nearby park to relax before Steph noticed that Bella was eating something. Immediately, she warned Bella.

However, by the time Bella stopped eating the raisins, she had already ingested 15 of them.

Knowing what they can do to dogs, Steph took her kids, carried the dog, and rushed to the vet to save her puppy.

According to PetMD, raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. The animal can take hours before it succumbs and dies. Luckily, Steph was able to get to the vet on time.

The doctor managed to get Bella to vomit all the raisins out before they could be digested. Her sons were terrified by the ordeal because they didn't want Bella to die.

Bella is still recovering, and the family is taking good care of her. Up to this day, Steph doesn't know whether the raisins were thrown on purpose or by mistake. Regardless, Steph has taken it upon herself to warn other dog owners about the dangers of raisins to dogs.

She has also given out various pamphlets at the park, urging people that want to feed the birds raisins to use bird tables that are raised away from dogs.

I hope that you have learned something new today, and you'll be more attentive to what your pet eats in public places. Make sure that you carefully inspect the ground if you see something that your pet is likely to eat.
