Grandmother Sinks Golf Ball And Wins New Car, Says God Made The Putt

Mary Ann Wakefield is an 80-something woman who achieved something that would have impressed even the most seasoned golf professional.

During a recent college basketball game, she sunk an extremely difficult 94-foot putt and won a new car. The golf challenge was called "Putt for a Car" and was a special promotion by one of the teams' sponsors, Cannon Motors of Mississippi.

It occurred one Saturday night when Mary Ann was attending a men's basketball game between the University of Alabama and Ole Miss.

At the game, Cannon Motors of Mississippi was having a promotion called "Putt for a Car" challenge. Mary Ann was excited to have a chance to win a new car. She would have to sink a 94-foot putt that involved making a ball go the entire length of the college basketball court.

When Mary Ann went to make her attempt at the putt, the people in the stands appeared to be holding their breath. They were stunned as they watched Mary Ann make a shot that went easily across the length of the basketball court and into the hole. She appeared to have done it effortlessly, as reported here by Newsbreak.

Ole Miss's mascot Tony the land shark and the arena DJ, all joined in the excitement. Mary Ann had just won a 2020 Nissan Altima. After sinking the putt, Mary Ann appeared to be stunned. She quickly realized what happened and began beaming and waving to the crowd. Mary Ann was then busy getting hugged by the shark mascot.

"I didn't make that putt, God did,"

Mary Ann exclaimed.

It appears there is a real love affair between the internet and what happened to Mary Ann during the college basketball game. A video clip of her putt was tweeted out to the cyberworld by SportsCenter. It received 2.9 million views. 

Notes of congratulations have been coming in large amounts for Mary Ann. The men's basketball team from Ole Miss went on to lose to the University of Alabama 103-78. It didn't matter who won at the Pavilion. Everyone who went to the game agreed that Mary Ann was the night's biggest winner.
