Grandmother Can’t Stifle Her Glee When Granddaughter Dyes Her Hair Rainbow Colors

One grandma is sending the internet into fits of laughter after her granddaughter decided to dye her hair some unusually vivid colors.

In April 2023, a poster going by the handle @thecolorchemist uploaded a video showing an elderly woman with snow-white hair seated at a beauty salon being prepped to get her hair dyed. However, it wasn’t your usual brown, black or blonde color she would be going for. The clip’s voiceover explained:

“Watch my grandma get rainbow hair!”

The young woman then asked her grandma in the clip if she was ready, to which she replied with utmost enthusiasm, “I’m ready!”

The granddaughter then held up the first brush full of dye and declared, “This is called Acid Spill,” to which the easy-going grandma responded, “OK, I’m so glad to know that.” After applying the first few brush strokes of the green hair dye, the grandma erupted in peels of laughter so contagious that her granddaughter couldn’t help but break into a fit of laughter as well.

The next application of a bright blue hue elicited an even more pumped-up round of laughter that showed just how fun-loving and light-hearted the grandmother was. As even more dye is applied to her hair, the grandmother remarked, “Isn’t it purty?” As various shades began to come together in the application, she also asserted, “Oh wow, that’s going to go good together,” followed by even more contagious chuckling that encouraged the granddaughter to keep going. 

Through a huge smile and between giggles, the grandmother also declared, “I’m gonna look like an Easter egg!”

Finally, it was time to apply the last color, which turned out to look quite red. The grandma grew concerned and said, “Oh, it looks like red-orange,” but the granddaughter assured her it would come out looking pink. “Well, it doesn’t look pink,” the grandmother responded.

At long last, the dyes had set, and its remnants washed off so that the grandmother could see for the first time what she had gotten herself into. As her granddaughter swung the salon chair around so her grandma could see herself in the mirror, her response was automatic. Both grandmother and grandchild couldn’t hold back their delight and began to laugh and guffaw so loudly that it caught the attention of others in the salon.

The final shot of the video showed the grandmother with the hair blown out and set, looking incredible – and incredibly hip! Outside the salon, the grandmother was clearly ecstatic about her updated tresses. She celebrated her new look with a smile from ear to ear while clapping and posing for photos. Viewers were naturally taken by the elderly woman’s good humor and took to the comments to praise her riotous jollity.

"It’s grandmas laugh for me 🥰🥰🥰” the first comment read. @thecolorchemist responded, “It’s so contagious it’s so contagious 😂”

“Grandma's laugh is EVERYTHING 🥰,” another user echoed, while another said, “She’s iconic. She looks like the prettiest cotton candy I’ve ever seen.”

Another user commented, “I love the constant excitement in this video 🥰” and @thecolorchemist again responded, “This is 100% where I get it from.”
