Grandma Gets Booted Off A Plane After Allegedly Kicking Flight Attendant

Flying can be challenging. You often feel rushed at the airport, and having to go through security can take longer than we’d like. Traveling by plane can become even more stressful when there is an argument or altercation during the flight. It seems these days there are more and more stories of drama and difficult situations starting on planes.

Flight attendants are usually courteous and very helpful to the passengers, but in the case of Ellen Flemming, it was the opposite.

She was escorted off the plane on a flight she had in 2018 while flying with Air Canada with her husband and her two grandchildren.

The altercation started when Flemming asked a flight attendant to simply throw away wet garbage she found in the seat pocket. However, the flight attendant got furious, saying he was not responsible for putting away garbage.

In another attempt to discard the trash, Fleming tried to put the garbage on the food cart that was passing by, but the flight attendant swatted her arm, and the wet garbage flew all over them. Fleming was bruised from the physical attack.

Moments later, the pilot announced that they were turning the plane around because of an incident onboard, which was later revealed to be Fleming’s issue. When they touched down, police escorted Flemimg out of the craft.

“At one point, I told them that they were taking the wrong person off, I said it took me that that the flight attendant because he lied,” Fleming’s husband defended her in an interview with Inside Edition.

A passenger on the same flight supported Flemming’s story in an interview with Global News Canada

“She just asked him to take the garbage and she was very nice about it and then he just, he got really mad,” Helen Hollett described the “irate” and “screaming” flight attendant.

When she asked for the reason why they were turning the flight around, the flight attendant’s response wasn’t helpful at all.

“I said, ‘Well, if it’s because of the garbage, I’ll clean the garbage if you want me to,’” Hollett remembered saying. “And he said no. He said, ‘We’re going back for the safety of the passengers.’”

Meanwhile, Air Canada stood by the flight attendant’s recollection of the events, which Flemming had denied repeatedly. They said Flemming “exhibited aggressive behaviour towards a crewmember; threw garbage on the food trolley; kicked a crewmember when requested to wait until the member could come back and pick up the garbage as he was serving food.”

Fleming revealed to Inside Edition that when she got that letter, she sat and cried because of the grave accusations.

People on social media voiced out their frustration with the flight attendant whose job is to literally take care of the passengers, including tending to trash.

“This is unacceptable. Seniors cannot be kick out from a plane for asking someone to throw away trash politely. She needs to sue that airline company for that reason,” a user suggested.

“Getting trash from passengers is literally part of their job…,” another said.

“I completely believe her! He hates his job and felt insulted that this woman asked him to throw trash away so he retaliated,” another commented.

“Imagine delaying a whole entire flight because you refused to your job,” another posted.
