Every now and then, we all need a little help, whether it be with a big project or a simple task. Nancee Lingg, an 82-year-old grandmother and great-grandmother, needed some assistance while at the Appleton International Airport in Wisconsin. From the time the plane from Chicago landed at the Appleton International Airport, Lingg had been struggling to handle her luggage. It was heavy, and she required a cane to help her walk. Thankfully, a tall stranger kindly offered to help Lingg with her bags as they exited the plane together.

Unfortunately, there were more complications in store for the elderly woman once she was finally off the plane and inside the actual airport. She still needed someone to help push her in a wheelchair while at the same time carrying her heavy bags. Luckily, the kind stranger decided to stick around and continued to help her out, to which she graciously accepted. They stayed together until Lingg was finally able to reunite with her family waiting beyond the gate.

While the kind gesture was incredibly sweet, it was also a momentous occasion as Lingg’s helper was none other than a professional football player who played for the Green Bay Packers. Someone at the airport captured a picture of the moment and posted it to social media, where it instantly circulated and went viral. Since then, the football player has received plenty of praise and recognition for stepping up to do something extremely nice. Read on to find out more about the kind stranger and his adorable act of kindness.

After noticing that an elderly woman at the airport needed help, NFL player Aaron Jones decided to help her out, according to Packers News. Jones is a running back for the Green Bay Packers, who are located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Jones was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and signed a contract in May that year with the Green Bay Packers. His collegiate career started at the University of Texas at El Paso with the UTEP Miners before going on to become a star player in the NFL.

The act of kindness occurred back in May 2018, when Jones decided to help out Lingg after seeing her struggle with handling her luggage at the Appleton International Airport. There was no one there to help the woman in a wheelchair collect her luggage and be pushed beyond the gate where her family members were waiting. Without hesitation, Jones was there to push her wheelchair and get her safely to her family.

A photo of the beautiful moment was captured and uploaded to social media, with many people quickly sharing the photo and commenting about how kind Jones was. The football player was completely taken aback by the overwhelming response. “I was just doing what anybody else would do,” Jones said, as per Packers News.

The now-viral photograph was captured by Twitter user @MonicaAllen11. In her post, she wrote, “Just watched Packers Aaron Jones push a random lady through the Appleton airport because there was no (one) there to push her.”

Later that week, Jones described what had happened behind the scenes that led to the unforgettable moment. “A lady was sitting next to me, across the row when we were getting off the plane (and) I saw she needed help with her bags,” Jones explained. “She had a cane, she was dragging her bags, and I was like’ Do you need help?’ And she said yes.” Jones continued, and explained that he immediately started carrying her bags as they walked off the plane together. Once in the airport, there was supposed to be someone there to help Lingg in her wheelchair and with her luggage, but no one was around.

“There were wheelchairs when we walked, but nobody was there, and the wheelchairs were folded up,” Jones explained. “So I asked if she wanted me to push her and she said yes. I pushed her down to where her daughter was.” According to Packers News, Lingg is from Harlingen Texas, and is a grandmother of nine and a great-grandmother of nine

At first, Lingg didn’t recognize the football player, but soon connected the dots. Jones said, “As we got halfway down there, I had a bag tag on and she asked ‘Are you a Packers player?’ and I said ‘Yes, ma’am I am.’ And she was like, my husband would’ve loved this.” Jones revealed that it made him happy to see how excited Lingg got after realizing who he was. Unbeknownst to him, someone had photographed the sweet moment and uploaded it to Twitter, where fans poured in their words of praise for the accomplished football player.
