Humanity is best demonstrated through actions. Dan Laguardia, a father of four has been applauded on social media for his act of generosity when he didn’t need to do anything. He voluntarily donated his car to a nursing student who has been juggling between school and two part-time jobs to fend for herself.

Kayla Cooper, the nursing student from San Diego City College, didn’t expect a stranger to notice her woes. The twenty-two-year-old only wanted a used car to help her juggle between her hectic daily routines, but Kayla didn’t have enough money to buy one.

She broke down on realizing that her money couldn’t get her a car. As fate would have it, Dan Laguardia happened to be in the same car yard as Kayla.

As for Dan, he had come down to the dealership in search of a trade-in deal that would see him sell his 2005 Scion XB and walk away with a new BMW. Kayla was explaining her woes to the salesman when Dan overheard her explaining.

She hoped to get a car that could help her maneuver through classes and her two jobs. Her tight schedules made commuting from one place to another hard for her, and she would lose one of the posts if she continued struggling with the transport problem.

While negotiating the deal, Dan overheard the salesman asking Kayla to seek help from friends. Unfortunately, the down-payment for the car was already too much for Kayla to handle.

Dan felt like he needed to do something for this young student who had been going through so much in her life. He was moved at how Kayla was determined to make ends meet.

Dan did what most people couldn’t do. He boldly approached the salesman and asked him to call Kayla back for his old car. Kayla couldn’t believe her ears when the salesman told her that she had been gifted a car at no cost!

Why would a stranger just hand her a car? Expecting nothing in return? Kayla questioned Dan’s generosity.

Dan’s kindness is rare to come across. And in no time, she was a proud owner of a complete car.

On receiving the keys and car’s papers, she was still shaking in disbelief. This was the biggest blessing she had ever received from anyone.

Dan believed that Kayla needed the Scion much more than he ever did and, in his heart, he knew the right thing to do was to gift it to her.

The world would be a better place if everyone emulated Dan even with the tiniest of things. Doesn’t this story move you? Dan’s story deserves recognition. Let’s make sure that the world knows we still have good and kind people.
