We always hear the phrase “home for the holidays” around this time of the year. Most families enjoy being together, especially during the happiest season of them all.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for many people who have to spend their holidays without the person they love. Many men and women are at the moment deployed, sacrificing their holiday time to keep us safe from harm.

Of course, this is even harder on the children of the deployed men and women. This is the main reason that Daddy Dolls became a thing- to help connect families who are far apart due to deployments, divorce, hospitalization, and more,

A child may be greatly missing their parent for a number of reasons. Often, it isn’t just their father- it may be a mother, grandmother, or grandfather. No matter who is gone, a “Daddy Doll” may make their life a little easier.

Emma Jones is a 5-year-old girl who is absolute proof that these particular dolls do help. Her father gave her a Daddy Doll right before he was deployed to Afghanistan. When she lost it, she was absolutely heartbroken.

Emma’s mother, Michelle Jones, told KTVK that her daughter was extremely devastated that she had lost the doll. She dropped it in a parking lot outside of a Dave & Buster’s, where she had gone to attend a birthday party.

They searched and searched for the stuffed image of her father, but they couldn’t find it anywhere. Luckily, a stranger had grabbed it before it got run over. He then went on social media for help in finding the owner.

Carlos Diaz posted to Facebook that he had found the doll over the weekend.

He asked if anyone knew of a way to get in touch with the owner.

Social media can certainly be used for good purposes. In less than a week, Emma’s mom was put in contact with Diaz, who quickly arranged to bring the doll to them.

KTVK reported that Emma was given her Daddy Doll back right away. Not only that, Diaz was happy to do so in person. What a wonderful Christmas miracle!
