Golden Retriever And Guinea Pig Become Closest Of Companions

Just like The Odd Couple, Frankenstein and Pippin prove that opposites attract. Frankenstein, or Frank as he likes to be called, is an excitable guinea pig so fast that he could give Sonic the Hedgehog a run for his money. Pippin, on the other hand, is a good-natured Golden Retriever dog.
On the outside, Frank and Pippin do not have a lot in common. In addition to being a different species, Frank is a tiny guy with Pippin being more than twice his size. While seemingly from two different worlds, Frank and Pippin have become quite enamored of one another. Despite their major differences, the two love spending time together.
Frank and Pippin’s mom, Kayla, says that their friendship surprised her at first. The pet mom says that Frank has to be near Pippin at all times. When Pippin goes outside, Frank is right behind her. Kayla jokes that it’s as if Frank was holding Pippin on a remote control. Worried about little Frank getting lost in the outdoors while on one of his adventures with Pippin, Kayla now ties a balloon around the little guinea pig to make sure that she always knows his location, reports Animal Channel.

When not outside, Frank still has to be near Pippin. During their quiet moments, Pippin acts as Frank’s security blanket, cuddling up to him when the duo sit on the couch. Those who know guinea pigs are aware that the animals usually like to live in pairs. For Frank, his mate for life is Pippin, despite the dog’s greater size. Being separated from Pippin therefore makes Frank agitated. Kayla says that on several occasions when the door to Pippin’s crate accidentally closed behind Frank, the little guy became very upset at not being able to be in physical contact with his big sister.
The couple also have several games that they like to play together. One game has Kayla teasing Frank with Pippin’s tail, which drives the smaller guy crazy, the video shows. The other game sees Frank rush under the family’s couch as Pippin tries to lure him out. In sum, Kayla describes the relationship between Frank and Pippin as unique. In another odd bit of trivia, the duo also enjoys eating corn on the cob together.
The story Frank and Pippin’s friendship became so popular that an Instagram page that tells the story of their adventures has garnered over 67,000 followers. Kayla is also hoping to publish a children’s book about Frank and Pippin’s unusual relationship in the near future.
