"To God Be The Glory!", Said Jim Kelly's Wife Just Before Her Football Legend Husband's Surgery

Jim Kelly was once a well-recognized quarterback that was inducted into the hall of fame, but in 2013 he wasn't fighting against the clock to score a touchdown. He was fighting for his life through cancer treatments.

He had been diagnosed with oral cancer and went through extensive surgery and treatment. His near-fatal illness led him to devote his life to Jesus Christ.

He went into remission in 2014 with no complications until now.

Fighting The Good Fight

In March of 2018, Jill Kelly made it known to the public that Jim's Cancer had returned. She spoke on Instagram about the frustration and emotional turmoil they are feeling now that the fight to save Jim Kelly has returned.

“Yet, despite how we feel, we KNOW that God is a promise maker and keeper," she courageously proclaimed while waiting for her husband who was in surgery.

Pulling Through The Hurdles With Jesus Christ At His Side

Jim Kelly successfully pulled through his surgery in March giving all the credit for his survivor-ship to his Christian faith. A large portion of his inner Jaw was removed during treatment. In June he went under another surgery to prepare his gum tissue for permanent dentures later this year.

Throughout their whole ordeal the Kelly family has been hopefully and ever marching forward with no regret.

On the 3rd of September his wife wrote, "Honestly, I don’t know how he does it other than the grace of God and the prayers of so many.” She also posted a cheerful photo of her husband in the hospital room. As the bible says,"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

The Kelly Family Asks For Spiritual Support Through Prayer

The Kelly family has always relied on their faith in Jesus Christ to see them through hard times. Many times over Jim has talked about his contentment with the life he has lived and has expressed his lack of concern when he reaches the end of his life. He has made it clear that he has no room to complain regardless of whatever happens.

“If tomorrow the good Lord decides that’s my last day, then I’m not going to go down with a frown. I’m going down with a smile on my face, knowing that I’ve gotten everything out of life.”

His wife asks that you keep them in your prayers and contact them with your prayer requests as well through social media. With every successful surgery, Jill exclaims zealously, "To God be the glory!"
