Gloria Vanderbilt's Will Shows Son Anderson Cooper Gets Most Of Her Fortune

Court documents reveal the late Gloria Vanderbilt will leave a huge majority of her fortune to her youngest son Anderson Cooper. The fashion icon passed away last month at the age of 95 after she was found to have stomach cancer.

ET obtained court documents that show “who will inherit her fortune, which she amassed through many successful business ventures and as a result of being the heir to a railroad fortune.” Cooper will obtain almost all of Gloria’s fortune apart from her apartment in Midtown Manhattan which was left to her eldest son Leopold Stanislous Stokowski. Gloria’s other son, Christopher Stokowski, who is estranged from the family was not mentioned in her will.

In a previous interview, Cooper had said he wasn’t getting any inheritance from his mother. "My mom's made clear to me that there's no trust fund. There's none of that," Cooper said on The Howard Stern Radio Show in 2014 cited by ET. He added that he doesn’t need the money and also doesn’t believe in inheriting money. "I think it’s an initiative sucker, I think it’s a curse. Who's inherited a lot of money that has gone on to do things in their life? From the time I was growing up, if I felt like there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don't know if I would have been so motivated."

Cooper narrated an emotional eulogy for his mother which aired on CNN after she passed. The eulogy summarized Gloria’s incredible life and accomplishments. In the video, Cooper said, “She was the strongest person I've ever met, but she wasn't tough. She never developed a thick skin to protect herself from hurt. She wanted to feel it all. She wanted to feel life's pleasures, its pains as well.” Cooper finished Eulogy by saying, "What an extraordinary life. What an extraordinary mom. What an incredible woman."
