Girl Teased For Having Dad With Down Syndrome Finally Writes Post Speaking Out

A Cebu, Philippines woman shares a special birthday message to her father who has Down syndrome. Richie Anne Castillo is an amazing daughter that wanted to tell the world about the love she feels for her father on his 50th birthday.

Her dad has many health problems that are amplified by his Down syndrome diagnosis. As Richie Anne said in her post to her father doctors are still amazed by his long life.

Richie Anne said in the post that she didn’t know if her father would ever get a chance to see her special note on social media, but she wanted to make sure that everyone knows how much she cares for him.

She expressed her challenges growing up with other children bullying her for having a father with disabilities. 

"As a kid I didn’t see you as different, I saw you as my dad. I didn’t understand why they were making fun of me and calling me abnormal," she wrote.

It wasn’t long until she fully grasped why so many students were picking on her. She knew that her father deserved the same love that anyone else does. Richie Anne made it a point to show him as much patience as possible from that point.

She applauded her dad’s determination to undergo constant surgeries without making a fuss about it. She sees him as a strong source of hope in her life for his unfailing bravery. She wished her father a happy 50th birthday and said, "I love you more than you could ever know, Dad and I am inspired by you always."
