Brad Pitt is an American actor and producer who has achieved many accolades throughout his long career. Having begun acting in 1987, the star appeared in uncredited film roles and portrayed many small characters on television series like "21 Jump Street" and "Dallas."

He first rose to fame in 1991 with his role as a hitchhiker in "Thelma and Louise" and gained more recognition in 1994 with his portrayal of Louis in "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles." Pitt earned the critical success that same year with his performance in "Legends of the Fall," which earned the actor his first Golden Globe nomination.

Pitt would go on to become one of the world's most recognizable actors. He is an Academy Award winner, taking home the Oscar in 2019 for his performance in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." However, before he became the international superstar he is today, Pitt had humble beginnings growing up in Springfield, Missouri.

Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to William Alvin and Jane Etta, the actor did not come from a show business family. Pitt's father was the proprietor of a trucking company, and his mother was a school counselor. His parents still live in Springfield, and Pitt visits his hometown on a regular basis. The star has two younger siblings, a brother named Douglas Mitchell and a sister named Julie Neal.

Pitt remains close with his family, sometimes taking his parents to award shows. Keep reading to learn more about the actor's life growing up and what his mother has to say about his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

In an interview with GQPitt recalled what his childhood was like. He said, "Well, it was Springfield, Missouri, which is a big place now, but we grew up surrounded by cornfields — which is weird because we always had canned vegetables. I never could figure that one out! Anyway, ten minutes outside of town, you start getting into forests and rivers and the Ozark Mountains. I grew up in caves. We had a lot of caves, fantastic caverns. Stunning country."

Pitt credits his father for his incredible work ethic. "I grew up with that be-capable, be-strong, don't-show-weakness thing," Brad told The New York Times in September 2019. "In some ways, I'm copying (my dad). He had grown up in extreme hardship and poverty, always dead set on giving me a better life than he had — and he did it."

Fortunately for Pitt, his parents have gotten along with both of his ex-wives. However, it is said that his mother prefers to spend her time with AnistonThere have been reports that Pitt and Aniston were possibly getting back together after a friendly display at the SAG 2020 Awards. A source claims that Pitt's mother Jane warned her son not to "mess around" with Aniston.

A source has claimed that Jane is extremely close with the "Friends" actress. It seems that Jane really respects Aniston and doesn't want her son to rush into anything that might jeopardize the two actors' friendship. The insider said Jane told him that he should "stay away" until he knows what is best for the two of them going forward. This sounds like helpful, motherly advice, and we are glad that both Pitt and Aniston have good role models in their lives.
