German Shepherd Sees Newborn Chicks For The First Time
May 01, 2020 by apost team
When Charon the German Shepherd met the newborn quail chicks, the dog made sure to give them a warm welcome.
Luckily, Charon’s mom caught the sweet encounter on camera for the world to see.
German shepherds are known to be fiercely loyal and disciplined dogs, which is why the breed tends to be preferred by the military and police force. German Shepherds are also known to be good learners that can be trained easily and have a lot of curiosity for their surroundings.
That fact is apparent in this video, as Charon becomes very curious when she first sees the bucket full of chicks and starts sniffing.

Charon’s owner then tips the bucket and lets the chicks pour out and wander around the room. Charon is still puzzled and starts sniffing the individual chicks.
The dog’s head pivots around the room as the chicks chirp loudly. Charon isn’t just curious, but careful too, as the dog make sure to not hurt the delicate chicks as they run around.
In a second video, the chicks, although still young, have grown, and have become friends with Charon.
Charon introduces the chicks to a German Shepherd puppy named Thorin, who is at first just as curious as Charon was as he meets the chicks for the very first time.
