Gentle Gorilla Has Heartfelt Friendship With Bush Baby Neighbor

We all know the old phrase "opposites attract." Of course, this isn't always true, but every now and then we see a moment that seems to prove these words true. One such moment—the friendship between a giant gorilla and a tiny bush baby—has been captured on video and shared with the world.

The gorilla featured in this video is called Bobo and lives on the Ape Action Africa preserve in Cameroon. At 441 pounds, he weighs a little bit more than the average for silverback gorillas. His friend is a Galagos, or bush baby, weighing in at only half a pound. The little tyke does not usually live at the preserve, but had found its way inside somehow anyway.

The caretakers were very surprised to find the two of them playing and cuddling each other one morning. The silverback gorilla and the bush baby are Cameroon's tallest and smallest primate species, respectively. Since this was such a rare and special sight, one of the caretakers decided to take footage of it. And we're all very happy they did! It's clear to see that Bobo takes great care to be very careful with his tiny friend.

The gentle giant likes lazing around with his tiny friend at his side, or on his body. It's no wonder the little bush baby has no fear in face of such gentle treatment! After sharing a few heartwarming moments together, Bobo set his new friend back down and let him get on with his day. This morning was a heartfelt encounter between these two primates and the footage is a tender moment we can all enjoy watching.
