A small girl in Argentina has finally found her forever home.

Baby Olivia was rejected by 10 families along her journey to adoption, according to Pink News. As an HIV-positive baby, her health situation made her less desirable to many families. But not for Damian Pighin and Ariel Vijarra.

The couple was the first gay couple to officially get married in their hometown province of Santa Fe. In 2011, the pair decided that they wanted to take the leap and expand their family.

It was not until 2014 that Damian and Ariel received the call about a newborn baby who needed a home. The infant was only 28 days old when Damian and Ariel got to hold her in their arms. They looked past the HIV diagnosis and only wanted to love her.

Olivia has thrived in her new home. She is now receiving treatment and the virus is no longer detectable in her blood.

One year after Olivia was adopted, a woman contacted Damian and Ariel, requesting that they also adopt her HIV-positive baby girl, Victoria. The loving couple agreed, making a family of four. Victoria and Olivia are close to each other in age.

The prognosis for HIV-positive patients has improved drastically in recent years. Although there is no cure, the proper treatment significantly reduces the virus that is present in the body. Sometimes the medicine works so well that the virus cannot even be detected.
