On Sunday, February 24th, The Academy Awards, also known as The Oscars, took place at the historic Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Famous actors, directors, and composers got together to see which nominees were going to receive an award.

This year, nominees for Best Original Song were “All The Stars” from Black Panther,  "I'll Fight" from RBG,  “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns, “When A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings” from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs ... and  “Shallow” from A Star Is Born

"Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper has become quite a phenomenon since the movie came out. And somehow, no matter how many times we hear it, whether at the Grammys or covered by Kelly Clarkson, we still can’t get enough of it!

At the ceremony, Gaga and Cooper gave a live performance of "Shallow" that blew everyone away. Emerging from their seats in the audience, the pair took the stage, which had a simple setup of just a piano and a chair. As always, their beautiful duet did not disappoint.

After Gaga's powerful bridge, Cooper walked around the piano to sit next to her and leaned in close to Gaga. So close together they created quite an intimate moment for such a huge awards ceremony. Their deep chemistry made their performance even more magical.

When they finished they received an immediate standing ovation from the audience at the Dolby Theatre and probably everyone watching the Oscars at home was applauding too.

But there's one thing the people at home didn't see because the Oscars television broadcast cut to a commercial break right when Cooper and Gaga were about to return to their seats. At that moment something incredible happened. The Academy Awards audience gave the two another round of standing ovations – that's something that has never happened before at the Oscars ceremony!

To make the night even more magical for Gaga and Cooper, "Shallow" actually ended up winning the Oscar for Best Original Song. They were more than touched to receive the award! And the audience was thrilled!

Congratulations Gaga and Bradley for the win! What did you think of their performance? Do you think it was Oscar-winning material? Let us know in the comments - and don’t forget to pass this along to your friends and family!
