From Bullied To Fabulous, How This Singer Overcame Her Fears And Ended Up On Stage

Lucy Kay was dealing with both shaking hands and nerves when she first stepped onto the stage at an audition for Britain’s Got Talent. She was prepared but nervous to audition for season 8 of the show.
However, her story came out and she grew bolder when the judges decided to ask her some questions about her life.
Lucy had a tough childhood growing up. But that didn’t stop her from wanting to share an amazing gift-her voice. You can find her audition clip showing the 24-year-old talking to one of the judges, Simon Cowell, about the reason she moved herself to Glasgow.

The clip shows her mother talking about Kay and her childhood. Her mother and father divorced when Kay was quite young, leaving her self-confidence extremely low. Unfortunately, bullies tend to prey on those they find lacking in the confidence department. Kay quickly became their target, facing torture from them day in and day out at school.
Her mother was devastated watching Kay go through such an ordeal every day. To try and help her, she asked her what she would do if she could choose to do anything in life. What was her answer? Sing! Because of this request, her mother got her into singing lessons.
Doing something she loved so much caused Kay’s confidence to grow. She started to flourish!
When Kay finally graduated from high school, she moved to Glasgow to study music.
After Kay told her story, she started to sing for the judges. They did not expect to hear such a soulful tune come from her lips!
Kay had decided to sing a beautiful piece of opera music. She not only stunned the audience with her beautiful performance, she wowed the judges, as well. Not only did the audience give her the standing ovation she deserved, Cowell got to his feet to do the same!
Kay was quickly given the chance to move on to the competition rounds after the audience settled down.
