Back in 2000 young Tyrel Wolfe sent a shoebox to a little girl in the Philippines, not knowing that the little girl opening the shoebox full of goodies would become his wife 14 years later.

As Fox 9 reported, Joana Marchan from the Philippines opened a shoebox in 2000. It was sent from a little boy in Idaho as a present to less fortunate kids in the Philippines. A charity program called Samaritan’s Purse put these shoeboxes together to send to kids.

Tyrel told Fox 9 that he can't recall ever sending it as he was six or seven years old. While Joana doesn't remember all of the contents, she does remember a photo of a cute boy in cowboy clothing with his name signed on the back. She was eight years old at the time. She cherished the box. She says she even sent a thank you card, but it never reached him.

She doesn't know what was in the shoebox except the photo signed on the back. Years later, Joana decided to find Tyrel on Facebook. She found him and sent him a friend request. The two wrote daily for over a year. They had a friendly conversation that slowly turned into a romance.

Tyrel earned enough money and flew to Joana's home to visit her. They didn't think it was real. It all seemed like a fairytale or a dream. They both decided there was no possible way they could have met by chance, but it had to be by faith.

Tyrel flew there twice to visit Joana. At one point, he asked her father for her hand in marriage in his native tongue. They got married five months later. For gifts, loved ones gave them shoeboxes full of love.

The two lovebirds cannot believe that a shoebox full of hope sent 20 years ago brought them together. Everything had to fit together perfectly for them to meet and fall in love. They both account it all to God and faith.

If you need a dose of love and happiness today, send this on to your friends. It's a love story that is true. It's not a fairytale, but a true story that shows wishes for "happily ever after" do come true.
