Four Young Girls Fight Cancer Together And Forge The Bonds Of An Unbreakable Friendship

These days, it feels like it's impossible to turn on the television without seeing and hearing more bad news about the state of our world. In these politically tumultuous times, most of us are desperate for a reason to smile.

If you need a story that will put that smile back on your face and remind you that it is still good in this crazy world, then look no further than the tale of Lauren, Ava, Chloe and McKinley. Two years ago, these beautiful little girls were all struggling with cancer. Although their individual diagnoses varied, they were all being treated at the John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

As anyone who's ever had a sick child will tell you, the period of treatment was an incredibly stressful and emotional time for all four little girls' families. A juvenile cancer diagnosis can feel like the end of the world for young parents.

Although this time was full of heartbreak and strife for these families, this didn't stop the four little girls from becoming fast friends. Throughout all of the hospital visits and invasive treatments, the bond that this fearless foursome shared helped them to stay joyous and hopeful.

As the months passed, each little girl eventually overcame her diagnosis. The last little girl to be declared cancer-free was Lauren, on what was a truly miraculous day for all four girls and their families, reports Fox13 News.

The nurses at this amazing hospital still remember the four little friends fondly. "It [still gives] me chills. It makes me want to cry," one nurse said as she reflected back on the girls' time at the hospital and their inspiring friendship, adding that she loved them as if they were her own daughters in the video.

"I had a child with cancer and I relate to this story so much!" commented one parent on social media. "It's true, the bonds you form with the other families during treatment are so intense. There's no one else in the world who understands what you're really going through and these friendships are so important!"

They plan to have a reunion in another year to celebrate the time they overcame cancer together.

We wish nothing but the best for these four cancer-free little girls and are pleased to say that they're still best friends to this very day. Show this story to a friend who's always there for you no matter what.
