These days, it feels like it's impossible to turn on the television without seeing and hearing more bad news about the state of our world. In these tumultuous times, most of us are desperate for a reason to smile.

If you need a story that will put that smile back on your face and remind you that it is still good in this crazy world, then look no further than the tale of Lauren Glynn, Ava Luciano, Chloe Grimes and McKinley Moore. Several years ago, these beautiful little girls were all struggling with cancer. Although their individual diagnoses varied, they were all being treated at the John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

As anyone who's ever had a sick child will tell you, the period of treatment was an incredibly stressful and emotional time for all four little girls' families. Having a kid with a cancer diagnosis can feel like the end of the world for young parents.

Although this time was full of heartbreak and strife for these families, this didn't stop the four little girls from becoming fast friends. Throughout all of the hospital visits and invasive treatments, the bond that this fearless foursome shared helped them to stay joyous and hopeful.

As the months passed, each little girl eventually overcame her diagnosis. The last little girl to be declared cancer-free was Lauren on what was a truly miraculous day for all four girls and their families, Fox13 News reported.

To commemorate the occasion, the little girls reunited in 2018 for a beautiful photoshoot, and the before-and-after shots are sure to move you to tears. Their friendship still forging strong, the girls posed happily together, cancer-free.

According to TODAY, Ava, Lauren, McKinley and Chloe forged a heartwarming friendship. "We were thankful they had other kids who were able to understand what each other was going through,'' Ava’s mom Alyssa said.

The four girls did a photoshoot together while they were still going through cancer. “The first year we did it, all four were still in intense chemo, and they were all still kind of limping,” Alyssa explained.

But in 2018, all girls were cancer-free and celebrated the occasion by reuniting for another photoshoot. "I think it's about celebrating the present and how far they've come and how much they've changed,” Alyssa said. She added:

“This year, they were jumping, and that was something they all spent so much time in physical therapy trying to accomplish. Now we can’t keep them still!”

A behind-the-scenes video uploaded to Facebook proved this was true, as Avan, Lauren, McKinley and Chloe couldn’t stop dancing and jumping together. Most importantly, they couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear.

The John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital uploaded the sweet picture of the friends, which received plenty of positive comments. One person said, “Blessings, for the four warriors, their families and their doctors.”

In a separate video, Fox13 News called the four girls “survivors.”

The photoshoot is a tradition that all four girls and their families hope to continue in the many years to come. "As many times as the hospital can bring the girls together, we will be there,'' Alyssa said. "We were talking at the photo shoot saying, 'I hope we're still doing this in 20 years.'''
