James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan revealed he would like to see a woman play the James Bond character. The star who played James Bond not once but four times thinks maybe it’s time for a change telling men to get out of the way and let a woman play the role.

Pierce Brosnan told The Hollywood ReporterYes!” when asked if there should be a female Bond. "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years. Get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there,” the star said.

He also continued saying, “I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting.” But the star is realistic about producers not wanting to let the change happen. “I don't think that's going to happen with the Broccolis. I don't think that is going to happen under their watch," he said

Brosnan also agreed that the Bond character should change in light of the #Metoo movement and the way he is portrayed as a womanizer. “Without question, yes... The #MeToo movement has been relevant and significant and well needed in our society, so they'll have to address that,” Brosnan said.

The actor continued to say he sees his Bond films as career highlights, “James Bond has a certain significance and a deep pride. I will be asked about him until my dying days — it just goes with the territory. He's a beloved character,” Brosnan said. “I was honored to play the role and I rejuvenated a franchise that had been dormant.”
