The former FLOTUS Michelle Obama has been busy in public life letting fans know what she’s up to every step of the way via her Instagram. She recently posted a photo to her nearly 35 million followers in loving tribute to her husband Barack.

Michelle was at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC for an event honoring her decade-long friend Lin-Manuel Miranda at the unveiling of his portrait for the museum. She posed beside the portrait of Miranda, who wrote “Hamilton” as well as the man himself. The caption of her photo gushed about his volunteer efforts and included a sweet dedication:

“But what I love most is that he believes it’s his duty to lift up those around him, especially the next generation...He’s someone who has, in melody and rhyme and connection, painted as honest a portrait of our country as I’ve ever seen. Love this guy."

But that wasn’t the only photo she posted on her Instagram that night.

Wearing the same lime green Schiaparelli gown in the next photo, Michelle poses with an old friend—the Kehinde Wiley portrait of her husband Barack Obama. The portrait was unveiled in February 2018 for the collection of the National Portrait Gallery according to The Independent.

It features a pensive Barack sitting on a chair among a maze of greenery behind him. Wiley is one of two first-ever black artists commissioned for presidential portraits, the other being Amy Sherald who painted Michelle Obama.

Michelle gazes adoringly at the portrait, possibly noticing new details she hasn’t seen before. The caption is a simple heart emoji but yet conveys a thousand words. Instagram responded with enthusiasm with comments like “Beautiful,” and even Oprah Magazine said, “Now we need this picture blown up and put in the museum 😍.”
