Footage Shows Dogs Working Together To Save Their Owner Who's Playing Dead

Dogs have evolved along with humans for thousands of years. Evolved from a common ancestor of wolves, dogs have helped us hunt, offered protection, and have been a source of companionship ever since this relationship started.

In return for their loyalty, we have always given dogs a warm place to sleep, good food to eat, and companionship in return. There's a good reason dogs are called "man's best friend". There are no other species quite as intertwined with homo sapiens as dogs.

An Instagram video is making rounds online showing just how loyal and intelligent dogs truly are. Max and Murphy are a cute dog duo who have the same owner. Murphy is a Golden Retriever puppy and Max is an older German Shepherd. They get along very well despite their age difference. The two dogs are even stars of their own Instagram account with hundreds-of-thousands of followers. They'll put your account to shame with the number of loyal fans who check in everyday to like, comment, and share the posts.

One video in particular has garnered a lot of attention. Max and Murphy's owner decided to play little prank on his hounds to see how they would react. The owner set his camera up and feel down behind the couch to play dead. The dogs weren't concerned at first as pets get used to funny human behavior over time. After a while, however, the dogs looked concerned that their owner wasn't moving. Some cute subtitles translated what the dogs were thinking.

Murphy, who was still on the couch, told Max to feel the human to see if he is warm. He knew that a warm body meant that he was still alive. Max can be seen laying down next to his owner and resting his head on his human's arm. Max confirms that the body is warm, but the owner still wasn't moving. In a classic act of puppy mischief, Murphy launched himself from the top of the couch and right onto his owner's belly. He instantly let out a yelp and was moving once again. Max and Murphy had just saved their owner's life!
