John Lennon was one of the greatest musical minds that mankind will ever bestow, and it seems like we already know everything about The Beatles' genius ringleader; however, new facts and recordings are still being unearthed to this very day.

In fact, one recently resurfaced video reveals that Lennon was still playing classic hits from his old band well into the 1970s. He is live on tape in this classic hippie renaissance, so you can personally witness the extraordinary power of "Come Together" from the iconic "Abbey Road" album.

The fable of Lennon began on October 9th, 1940. Naturally, the singer-songwriter was born amidst a German air raid during World War II. His birthplace was Liverpool, Merseyside, England.

He was primarily raised under the roof of his Aunt Mimi, and his mother, Julia, was a fleeting presence in his life, but she is the one who introduced him to music before tragically passing away in a car wreck, reports the Liverpool Echo. Meanwhile, Lennon hardly interacted with his father, who is mostly referred to in biographies as a wayward traveling seaman.

Lennon started to recruit musicians for a band in high school, and it was during this time that he discovered future long-term collaborators Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Once Ringo Starr was on board, an explosive reception catapulted The Beatles to international fandom, and the world of music has never been the same since they arrived. Thanks to this fabulous rendition, all free-spirited lovers of classic rock can come together in unison one more time.

Sadly, Lennon was murdered by a deranged fan in 1980, and the world of pop culture has been left with a gaping void following this tragedy. The assassination was one of the most shocking events on Earth when it happened. In a recent Twitter post, his wife, Yoko Ono, still describes it as exceedingly traumatic.

Lennon and Ono did have a child together before the star was lost. The pair's son, Sean Lennon, has perhaps provided us with a glimpse of the potential that was stolen when his father died at the age of 40. His musical projects include psychedelic acid rock musings with The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger and eclectic jam band material in the super-group duo known as The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Check them out on tour to behold the spectacular resurgence of mind-blowingly experimental Woodstock-era funk blues.

The music of John Lennon lives on. Can you feel a star's presence through the music and legacy they have left behind?
