Fonzi Finally Admits Truth Behind Mysterious Decade-Long Absence From Camera After End Of "Happy Days"

Over 40 years ago Henry Winkler began his career as an actor. He was seen by thousands while being viewed on home televisions around the world. His time spent as a cast member of the well-known television show Happy Days, will never be forgotten.

Though he has never been forgotten, as the years have continued to pass, he has never won an Emmy award. Instead, he humbly watched as fellow actors took home their awards year after year. 

Receiving an Emmy is the highest level of acknowledgement an actor can receive. This year’s Emmy Awards proved to be something very different for Winkler. At the graceful age of 72, Henry Winkler won an Emmy for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series”.

According to IMBD, since the year 1964, Henry Winkler has taken on over 125 roles in movies and television shows combined. Henry is well-known for being cast in the television show Happy Days. He has also been cast in other works such as Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, The Waterboy, Click and numerous other projects.

Most recently, Winkler reached success while starring in the HBO series Barry. Winkler has a personality that is naturally made for a script like this. As a result, this led to him being nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” at this years Emmy Awards. After being nominated, Winkler wasn’t sure if he would actually win. Afterall, many years had passed and he had never won before. He was also in a nominating class full of outstanding actors.

He had been in the entertainment industry for more than four decades. What could possibly change this time around? Other actors nominated included Alec Baldwin, Titus Burgess, Brian Tyree Henry, Louie Anderson, Kenan Thompson and Tony Shalhoub. Though Henry kept his hopes at a minimum, he did dress for the occasion as he had done many other times in the past. As his nomination category reached its time in the awards show, Winkler was left in shock after hearing his name called as winner for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series”. 

In complete happiness and excitement, Winkler gave the speech he had been waiting to give for years. He began by humorously acknowledging that he only had 37 seconds left to give his speech, one that he had written 43 years prior to this event. He told the audience some encouraging words he received from Skip Brittenham. The words stated that if you remained seated at the table long enough, eventually the chips would begin to come to you. Winkler proclaimed that on tonight he succeeded in clearing the table.

Following these inspiring words, Winkler went on to thank the other cast members as well as many others that included his family. Still being humorous, Winkler told his children that they could finally go to bed. He had finally won his Emmy. This is an amazing accomplishment for Henry Winkler.
