Need something to cheer you up? This story about some adorable ducklings and some amazing firefighters in Florida should do the trick.

When eight tiny ducklings fell into a storm drain at a country club, all seemed lost. The mama duck circled around the drain, calling loudly for her babies. It looked like it would be impossible to get them out. Luckily, someone at the country club thought of calling the Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District.

The call came in at 10:30. Instead of deciding the situation was too mundane, they jumped into action. The firefighters spent the rest of the morning hanging over and into the drain in order to reach the ducklings. It was a painstaking process. They used a recording of the ducklings' mom quacking to draw them closer. They worked together to locate and remove the babies.

Elliot Wilson, in particular, went above and beyond. He spent large amounts of time hanging upside down into the drain. He patiently waited for the ducklings to get close enough to reach, and then he lifted them out to safety. Other firefighters stood nearby, ready to take each baby as Elliot pulled them from the drain. That way he could immediately turn his attention to the next duckling in need of rescue.

Once they got all the ducklings out of the storm drain, they released them into a nearby pond. The ducklings quickly made their way over to their concerned mommy duck. These ducklings were lucky to get such a happy ending, and it's all thanks to some kind firefighters who chose to go above and beyond the call of duty.
