Flight Attendant Takes Home Street Dog Who Devotedly Waited For Her Outside Hotel For Six Months

There is a belief that dogs and human beings have a special relationship. Many people across the globe have dogs as pets, and sometimes the bonds can be very close. In fact, dogs have been known to fall in love with people.

And this is what happened with one German flight attendant who visited Buenos Aires, and a street dog fell in love with her. Olivia Sievers is a German flight attendant who met a stray dog in 2016 on one of her trips to Buenos Aires.

After showing the street dog some affection, the dog was convinced that they were meant for each other, and since then, it didn't want to leave her side. The dog, which is now known as Rubio, would follow the flight attendant each evening as she returned to the hotel and wait outside until the next day when she came out.

Speaking to Noticiero Trece, Olivia said she met the dog, now named Rubio, in February 2016 when she was in Buenos Aires. The friendship started when Olivia was walking across the street early in the morning and shared some of the dog food she was carrying with it. Rubio was happy that someone sympathized with him, so he started following her benefactor around.

"I tried to change my way because I didn't want that he follow me back to the hotel," she told the publication. "But it was not possible. He always came back and followed me. I tried one hour, but he always watched me and followed me. He was really happy that somebody gave him attention."

Feeling bad for the poor pup, Olivia gave him an airline blanket to stay warm at night.

Olivia eventually flew back home to Europe, and little Rubio was sleeping rough on the streets again. When Olivia returned to Buenos Aires, however, the pup, to her surprise, was still waiting for her at the entrance of her hotel. Naturally, Rubio remembered Olivia and approached her for a cuddle.

After that visit, Olivia would find Rubio in the same spot every time she flew back to Buenos Aires. Concerned for the dog's well being, she even arranged to get Rubio adopted through a local rescue group. That solution didn't last long, however, as Rubio quickly escaped and ran away back to the hotel door to wait for his best friend to come back.

By then, it was obvious no matter how much Olivia tried, there was just no getting rid of Rubio. That's when she decided to make arrangements to fly the dog home to Germany with her. Now, Rubio has a new home with Olivia's other dogs.
