Flight Attendant Discloses 10 Don'ts Passengers Should Refrain From While Flying

Every year more and more people are taking flights to their destinations for vacations or holidays. Every time is a great time to refresh our memories about some in-flight etiquette that may sometimes be overlooked. One flight attendant took to his TikTok account to share some videos that cover ten things that you should never do on an airplane.

Tommy Cimato is a flight attendant with a large following online, and his audience loves to learn about his work. Cimato shares videos that discuss common questions he gets on the job, as well as certain things that most people may not know about flying. A common thread is how unhygienic planes can be and what you can do to protect yourself from germs.

Some of the advice he offers is to try not to lean your head on the window because there have been many people before you who have touched it, and the windows aren't frequently wiped down. The same goes for the floor. The carpet is not very clean, so you should not take off your shoes or go barefoot. This is also useful advice in the event of an emergency because you don't want to be scrambling to get your shoes on if you need to act fast.

Cimato made two videos, each listing five different things you should try to avoid doing on planes, and they have quickly gone viral on TikTok. The flight attendant's account has over 127,000 followers and more than 4 million likes. Keep reading to learn all ten things not to do on an airplane.

The first bit of advice Cimato mentioned in his video is, "Don't touch the flush button in the lavatory with your hands." This seems like common sense, but it is still important to remember.

Another piece of advice was, "Don't forget to drink water." Cimato suggests drinking 16 ounces of water for every flight.

As we covered before, Cimato also said, "Do not sleep or lean your head on the window."

The flight attendant added, "Don't or try not to wear shorts when you're on an airplane. It's the same thing as the window, you never know how clean it's going to be. So if you have pants, you're gonna have less germs."

Cimato also went out of his way to say: "Don't feel afraid to let a flight attendant know if you are feeling sick." He said that the flight attendants are there to help the passengers, so you should reach out if you need food, water, or an airsick bag.

The first suggestion from the second video was, "Don't go barefoot." Cimato also focused on airplane safety and said, "Don't get up during turbulence." He mentioned that the crew will always do their best to notify passengers of turbulence, and it is best to stay seated with your seatbelt fastened.

Another valuable safety tip was: "Don't ignore the safety demonstrations." When the flight attendants are going over what to do in an emergency, you should always give them your undivided attention.

Sadly, flight attendants have to deal with a lot of rude passengers, so Cimato said, "Don't snap at the crew." It is never polite to snap at someone to get their attention.

The last piece of advice was: "Don't get up as soon as you land." Instead, stay seated until it is safe.
