The couple behind the hit show Fixer Upper, Chip and Joana Gaines, are coming back to television with a relaunch of their show. Instead of appearing on HGTV as the show once did, it will air on the Gaines' forthcoming channel Magnolia Network in 2021, after being pushed back from this year. For fans of the show, it'll be welcome news!

Hailing from Waco, Texas, Chip and Joanna shot to fame with Fixer Upper, and now they'll be making many fans happy to know they're coming back. The show's original run ended in April 2018 following five seasons, which by the last one drew in 17 million weekly viewers.

People magazine reports that the couple truly thought their show was over after its fifth season, explaining:

"The day we wrapped our final episode of Fixer Upper, we really believed it was a chapter closed. We knew we needed a break and a moment to catch our breath. But we also knew we weren't done dreaming about the ways to make old things new again."

After the show's run the Gaines' took a much-needed break, but even then they kept busy. In that time they redesigned their Magnolia headquarters and overhauled a historic hotel in downtown Waco, but apparently the structure of television was something they began to miss.

“These past few years, we’ve continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we’re passionate about, but I don't think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts. We’ve missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we’re excited to do that again very soon!”

Not only have Chip and Joanna been busy working during that time, but they've been raising their five children—Drake, 15, Ella, 13, Duke, 12, Emmie, 10, and Crew, 2. Speaking about taking the time to be with family, Chip told People in an interview in 2017:

“We have the chance to regroup and refresh and find out in two years, thank God we stopped and gave each other time and energy and loved our family more than we would’ve had the resources to do otherwise. Hopefully that will pay dividends down the road.”

It was first announced that Chip and Joanna would start their own network in November 2018. Magnolia is said to feature a lineup of ten original programs that will cover everything from gardening, cooking, architecture, and travel. One show will be centered around Atlanta-based interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn, while another will be on the band Johnnyswim—comprised of a couple who are close family friends with the Gaines' and happen to be their favorite band.

Joanna confirmed to People that one of the biggest motivators for starting their own network was "a desire to tell the stories of brave people who are chasing big dreams."
