First Class Passenger Breaks Down ‘Bawling’ When Forced To Get Off The Airplane

The clip first made the rounds online before going viral on Reddit, where it has racked up more than 5,000 comments after being posted on Apr. 7, 2023. In it, a man seated in the first-class cabin of an American Airlines flight could be seen arguing with two enforcement officers. It is believed the personnel were responding to the crew’s alert of an unruly passenger who had kicked up a fuss after being denied a pre-flight gin and tonic beverage.

The more than five-minute-long clip showed the man in a heated discussion with the personnel, who can be heard demanding the man deboard the plane. “We’re not going to go back and forth… Get up off the seat and leave through the exit,” one of the officers could be heard telling the man, who responded, “What crime did I commit?” He continued to staunchly refuse to leave, even after two pieces of his luggage were taken off the plane. Fellow passengers were also seen imploring the man to do as he was told and get off the plane, which he steadfastly refused to do. Instead, he took out his phone and began to record the people around him whilst adamantly stating he was “doing nothing wrong.” One of the officers then called for additional units to the scene, and a third officer joined them shortly after.

Things quickly escalated after another passenger swiped the phone from the man’s hands. With their patience wearing thin for the unruly passenger, the officers decided to physically pull him out of his seat and off the plane.

As the man was being forcibly pulled out of the plane, his cries of “Stop! Stop! Stop!” were generally expected. What wasn’t, however, were his continued sobs and wails.

The man continued to bawl as he staggered out of the plane into the boarding bridge, followed closely by the officers. He doesn’t stop crying even as the personnel attempt to handcuff him on the ground.

Reddit users blasted the passenger for his disruptive behavior and poked fun at his childish response.

“Reasonable people don’t get themselves into situations like this,” one user commented, while another said, “At first I thought he was laughing, trying to act tough. What an embarrassment.”

Many remarked the man’s behavior was reminiscent of a child.

“Long clip but absolutely worth it to hear this guy break down in baby tears when he realized his a** was going to jail,” one user wrote, while another said, “that man-baby sniveling at the end was so satisfying. Made watching the whole video worth it.”

“That absolutely pathetic bawling at the end. Guy’s a 40-something year old baby,” another said.

A debate also arose in the comments concerning whether or not the man had indeed committed a crime, with some users saying a plane is technically considered private property and, therefore, any decision to kick a passenger off the plane is up to the discretion of the airlines.

According to the United States Department of Transportation, “airlines may deny boarding or remove you from a flight even after accepting your boarding pass and informing you that you may proceed to board if the denial or removal is due to a safety, security, or health risk, or due to a behavior that is considered obscene, disruptive, or otherwise unlawful.”
