Keith Young was a man of many talents. With three kids and a fantastic wife, he was known as being a devoted family man who loved to cook and was a chef. During his time on earth, Keith wrote his own cookbook, and was shown in “Chopped” and “Throwdown with Bobby Flay”. In 1998, Keith also joined the New York City Fire Department to support his family while also helping out his community.

While Keith was able to help thousands of people during his time with the fire department, his service didn’t come without a price. Keith was a part of the rescue team during 9/11 and one of the first responders.

Although Keith was not seriously injured in the attack itself, he managed to develop a rare form of cancer from his time spent in the area. This would not become a problem for several more years.

After 9/11, Keith was able to move forward with his life and invented the Cup Board Pro, which is a cutting board complete with a built-in cup that aids in the process. Keith was hoping that the board could help others while also giving him more time with his family.

As he worked to make his invention a masterpiece, Keith’s wife Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer and ultimately died. If that wasn’t hard enough on the little family, Keith then left the world at the age of 53 on March 17, 2018. He left behind three orphan children and an invention that was incomplete.

Keith’s three children were devastated with their losses; however, they were determined that their dad’s work on the Cup Board Pro would not be in vain. They recently appeared on the television show “Shark Tank” in an effort to gather funds to keep the invention moving forward.

Daymond John, who works as one of the “sharks” on the show, was touched by their arrival. He explained on Twitter that he was overcome with emotions when he was doing that episode since he lost many of his friends in the 9/11 attacks. He said that it was almost enough to make him walk off the set to deal with his emotions.
