A finalist on the hit show "America's Got Talent" is quickly making a name for himself in the music industry thanks to a pair of performances that both quickly went viral.

In August, Michael Ketterer wowed audiences with his rousing rendition of James Bay's song "Us." The father of five and pediatric nurse brought judge Simon Cowell to tears with the beautiful performance. The normally gruff Cowell did not hesitate to send Ketterer through with the highly coveted Golden Buzzer.

Host Tyra Banks asked Cowell to expound on his thoughts about Ketterer's performance and the judge did not hold back his emotions, speaking to the fact that Ketterer really tugged at his heartstrings about being a father.

The September 19 finals of the reality show talent competition proved to be exciting as Ketterer had to duke it out with a myriad of other amazing musicians giving it their best shot on the big stage. Ketterer was a favorite going into the finale in large part due to his appeal as a hard-working and doting father.

The Cowell favorite was further buoyed when Cowell himself asked legendary country music artist Garth Brooks to compose a song specifically for Ketterer to perform during the finals. Shockingly, Brooks accepted the challenge and got to work quickly to write a song for Ketterer.

Ketterer embraced the new song, entitled "The Courage to Love," and did it justice when he took the stage. Although the performance impressed the millions of television viewers and earned Ketterer a standing ovation by the live audience, it was still not enough to win the competition.

Ketterer finished in a respectable fifth place and undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him. Up next for Ketterer is a live performance with Brooks himself at his sold-out November concert at Notre Dame.

Don't let your friends miss seeing Ketterer where he first got his start on the stage. Make sure that this stunning performance does not go unnoticed!
