One of the biggest controversies that's ever happened in the history of the Olympics concerned Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, two figure skaters that hail from Canada. When they gave a performance of the routine for their short program, they were almost perfect.

That's what all of the audience members and commentators thought, at least...

Moir and Virtue were predicted to get the gold medal for figure skating that year. However, when their American counterparts performed their routine, Charlie White and Meryl Davis somehow got a higher score. A significantly higher score. White and Davis received a score that broke a world record, even though there was a unanimous opinion from experts and the public alike that their routine had a greater number of flaws than the one Moir and Virtue performed.

As the controversy played out, Scott and Tessa didn't say much about the subject. Their choice was to enjoy taking the high road and watch everyone else battle it out. When asked about the controversy, Virtue says that they accept that these sorts of things happen in the ice skating industry.

Both skaters are happy with their performance and exhilarated when they finished performing.

Following the disappointment at the Olympics, these Canadian sweethearts made an announcement that they weren't likely to return to the figure skating arena. They said they were no longer interested in competing on an Olympic level, or any other level.

Their fans were heartbroken, but the story ends happily!

Now, Scott and Tessa have begun to skate again. This time, they performed at the World Championship, and they were finally successful in bringing home the glorious gold medal. Their stunning performance had the crowd on its feet within minutes.

What do you think of the performance? Are you glad to see these two back again?
