Felicity Huffman arrived at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California to begin serving her 14-day prison sentence for her part in the college admissions scandal. The actress pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud. However, her ‘guilty’ plea was exchanged for a low prison sentence.

Huffman almost immediately accepted responsibility for her part in the scandal. She was found to have paid $15,000 to a charity that facilitated helping her daughter cheat on her SATs. TMZ reported that prosecutors had originally recommended a year of jail time for Huffman but when her court date rolled around the sentence was dropped to one month.

However, the judge handed down only 14 days in prison, one year of supervised release, 250 hours of community service and a $30,000 fine. After the sentencing, Huffman read from a statement as cited by ET:

"I have always been prepared to accept whatever punishment Judge Talwani imposed. I broke the law. I have admitted that and I pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period … I would like to apologize again to my daughter, my husband, my family and the educational community for my actions. And I especially want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices supporting their children.”

TMZ obtained the prison menu that Huffman will be served today: Chicken patty, rice, beans, fruit and a drink for lunch. For dinner, the options are pepper steak or lentils, steamed rice, green beans, and whole wheat bread.
