Feelings Of Loss, Loneliness And Lack Of Direction Are Sometimes Inevitable

No one ever told you how hard life would be. Growing up, you thought that you'd drift blissfully into adulthood and live the dream life you fantasized about. But as we grow older, we change.
Our experiences shape us, and we become more fearful than we ever could have imagined. The world is cruel sometimes, and we learn to stop seeking happiness and just accept what's given to us with our eyes cast downward.

Sometimes, life is just like that. It sucks, but we can't change it single-handedly. You're going to have says where you can't find the right words to say no matter how desperately you long to be heard. You will rewrite a text message dozens of times before eventually sending nothing at all.
You're going to feel trapped, like no one understands you or even wants to see you. You'll find comfort in your bubble because no one can hurt you there. But still, you will ache for something more. You want to be loved. You want acceptance and companionship. Reaching out is just so hard, though. How are you going to make it?
Sometimes, you're going to cry for no reason. You'll stare at yourself in the mirror and feel your chest ache as tears roll down your face. Other days, you won't feel anything at all, and you won't be able to tell whether that's a good thing or not.
Sometimes, you might miss your sadness. You'll miss feeling something.
Don't believe that you've lost the ability to care. Even if you can't find the space in your mind to care for yourself, you will still be able to care for others. You care so much that you can't even breathe sometimes, and that's why your heart told you to stop. But deep down, that loving, gentle person is still there.

Sometimes, you might skip showers and go out without brushing your hair. You'll throw on the first clothes you find and head out without even looking in the mirror. You'll miss the little things that used to bring you immense joy like going shopping with your best friend or getting breakfast with your mom. All of these moments that used to make time stop will suddenly feel impossibly out of reach.
You might think dark thoughts about yourself. You may think the world would be better off without you in it. You'll self-sabotage. You'll convince yourself good things aren't meant for you and let go of people and opportunities that could have been so good. But there will be others. The things you have lost or forsaken weren't your only chance at happiness.
Even when you've lost all hope, you must go on. Sometimes, you'll hear a song or see something that reminds you of who you used to be. That person is still who you really are, even if you've changed. We all grow differently. Some of us need to spend more time in the shadows to truly appreciate the light. It doesn't mean you're broken; you're just human.
Sometimes, you're going to look back on the darkest periods of your life and remember how sad you were. You're going to remember how alone you felt and how pointless everything seemed. And you'll be so happy you didn't give up.
