Fawn Rescued From A Ferocious Wildfire Thanks His Rescuer With A Sloppy Wet Kiss

The Carr Fire in Northern California has been one of the worst wildfires in recent memory, bringing devastation to all the areas in its merciless path. Since it began on July 23, the fire has claimed six lives, including two kids and their great-grandma who were trapped inside their home when the blaze consumed their home.

Over 100,000 acres had been utterly destroyed by the wildfire by July 30, according to CNN news reports.

Brave fire crews have been doing all they can to try and fight the spread of the blazing flames. Evacuated residents anxiously wait to find out if their homes are among those destroyed by the fire.

Even in the midst of this darkness, some stories are emerging that put a silver lining on the smoke-filled clouds of suffering. One such story is that of a small fawn.

Authorities became aware of the little four-legged orphan on July 28th. At just around one month of age, the bewildered fawn was found by firefighters in desperate need of help. Flames were closing in all around, leaving her little time to escape.

That's when CHP San Francisco Sergeant Fawson rose to the challenge. He gathered the frightened fawn up gently in his arms and sped him away to safety in his squad car.

Wildlife rescuers are caring for the fawn. He seems elated to be out of harm's way.

In fact, when Sgt. Fawson was caught on camera with the fawn, the affectionate animal was planting a wet, slobbery kiss on the policeman's cheek!
