For Ted McDermott, the diagnosis with Alzheimer's a few years ago was not something that came with great delight to his family. He and his family members knew that it was just a matter of time before the disease progressed in a way in which he would not remember his family anymore.

Although the condition progressed in such a way, his son Mac was lucky enough to discover a trick that quickly brought his father back even though it does not last long.

Ted was always a fervent lover of music. He used to sing and perform at clubs when he was younger. Even though he does not remember his close ones anymore, the love for singing is still in his heart.

Mac decided to use this detail to his family's advantage when dealing with his father's disease.

When his father begins to completely lose his memory, Mac would put on some of Ted's favorite music and begin singing. Ted would snap out of his amnesia and quickly begin singing together with his son.

It is those times that give Mac the motivation to keep fighting for his father.

Mac decided to record these singing moments with his father in order to raise awareness and resources for the Alzheimer's Society. This money will go to people who give support over the phone for families dealing with an Alzheimer's patient themselves.

Mac hopes that with their recording sessions he will have the chance to bond with his father as well as help other people with Alzheimer's find relief. The duet started a donation page in which people can give money for the releasing of the album.

Mac vows that 25% of the profits will go towards Alzheimer's research.

Although life with this condition is tough, Mac will continue on creating common moments with his father through the music that he loves. He hopes that all of this will also help other Alzheimer's patients and caretakers cope with the condition.
