Every dad wants to make the holidays memorable for his kids. This is why so many dads go above and beyond on holidays like Halloween. From turning the front yard into a haunted attraction to helping their kids craft the best costumes ever, dads are rockstars when it comes to creating the perfect holiday memories.

One dad in Minnesota went above and beyond for his town's annual parade. Tom Konz is a farmer who uses a combine harvester in his daily farm work. For those city folks unfamiliar with what a combine harvester is, it's a drivable piece of machinery that mows fields and sprays the ground clippings back onto the soil as mulch.

Tom decided that his combine harvester could serve another unique function. After tinkering around with his 1967 John Deere combine harvester, he was able to disable the mowing function and turn it into a giant candy dispenser, able to toss tons and tons of candy at kids as they watched the parade.

Tom's first trip down the parade route with his combine harvester was a massive hit with his community. The reaction was so positive that Tom started taking his giant candy dispenser to any local parade that would have him.

To make his invention even cooler, he affixed a camera to the side of his combine harvester so that he could capture the delight on children's faces as he drove by dispensing candy.

Tom sticks to budget-friendly candy whenever he takes his combine harvester to a parade. Regardless, each parade costs him about $130, not including fuel. But Tom says the cost is worth it whenever he watches the footage of the happy children catching candy along the parade route.

"I think I’m smiling more than the kids," Tom told KARE 11.

Viewers on YouTube have fallen in love with the footage from Tom's combine harvester. "That's so cool that he goes out of his way to bring a smile to these kids' faces!" one user commented.

"With all the bad stuff going on, this is just the kind of thing I think we all need to see," another person wrote.

With all of the tragedies and divisive news stories in the world, it's nice to see someone doing something so wonderful for completely selfless reasons. This is the perfect candy-themed story to put us in the Halloween spirit. Show this story to anyone who's excited to trick-or-treat!
