Fans Won't Be Able To See Baby Archie As Meghan And Harry Plan Private Baptism

Royal sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have claimed the couple will be having a private baptism for the new baby boy, Archie. The christening will supposedly be held in Queen Elizabeth’s personal chapel at Windsor Castle.

The Daily Mail reported the ceremony will be very small and private saying, “In all, there will be just 25 guests, including Archie's godparents, who haven't yet been revealed but are said to include a number of Harry and Meghan's closest friends.” Many have jumped to criticize the royal couple saying it is a misstep to keep the service private. Royal author Penny Juror told The Times, the couple’s decision is a “mistake,” especially after they have been bashed for spending nearly 3 million dollars in British taxpayers money to renovate their home, Frogmore Cottage

"They can't have it both ways. Either they are totally private, pay for their own house and disappear out of view or play the game the way it is played. Seeing Archie and his godparents arriving at the christening is what people are interested in,” Juror continued.

Royal aids had told Daily Mail that pictures from the event will be released to the public afterward, as well as on the couple’s Instagram page, Sussex Royal.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, also chimed in to say the public is becoming a “bit jaded” by Archie’s few photos that the couple has released. “They won't want an arty Instagram shot of Archie's foot three days later if it's left up to the couple themselves to take pictures and release them,' Seward said to the Daily Mail. She was speaking about the Mother’s Day Instagram picture shared by the Duke and Duchess of Archie.

Apart from royal experts, many people have taken to Twitter to exclaim their dismay at Harry and Meghan’s decision. One Twitter user wrote “I thought they wanted a public spectacle with the christening? All this ‘we want privacy but happy to be funded by taxpayers’ is doing my head in!” While another in opposition said, “But it’s their baby. Just because it’s our money doesn’t give us a right to invade their privacy. They want their child private. Respect it.”
