Fans Claim ‘Diana Is Back’ As They Point Out Striking Resemblance Between Princess Charlotte & Her Grandmother

As each year passes by, Princess Charlotte continues to grow into the gorgeous little girl that she's becoming. But with the passing of time, it also becomes more clear that the only daughter of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales has a striking resemblance to multiple family members, including her father, her grandmother, Princess Diana and her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Born on May 2, 2015, Charlotte is the middle child of the Wales family, as she has an older brother, Prince George, and a younger brother, Prince Louis. She is currently third in the line of succession to the throne, following her father and her older brother. Charlotte’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, which honors both her grandmother and the previous reigning monarch and her late great-grandmother, the queen.

The little princess is 7 years old nowadays and with each year that passes, her personality comes out more. In fact, she's proving to be the cheekiest member of the royal family. Besides her fiery personality, Charlotte's resemblance between her and her grandmother, Diana has been long drawn by fans since she was a toddler. Sadly, Diana died in a tragic car accident in Paris in 1997, which means Charlotte was never able to meet her.

Back in 2018, a fan account on Instagram posted side-by-side photographs of Charlotte and Diana when she was a little girl, and noticed their uncanny resemblance. “Omg double of her nana … what a great young lady she will turn out to be with looks as beautiful as her angel nana,” one Instagram user commented.

Other users in the comments debated about how similar Charlotte and Diana looked, but they could all agree that the young princess shares her grandmother's famous smirk. Another wrote:

"beauties Diana is back thru hr (sic) sweet grand daughter bless her xx"

However, many others believed that Charlotte had a stronger resemblance to the late Queen Elizabeth. Regardless, one thing she did have in common with the previous monarch was her fondness for horses. A source close to the royals told Closer magazine back in 2019 that Charlotte asked her parents for a pony for Christmas. While William deemed her too young to be riding, they did gift their daughter a toy riding center with accessories. If Charlotte is anything like her great-grandmother then she will be riding horses for her whole lifetime. 

It's even sweeter because Charlotte and the queen shared similar birthdays since they were born just two weeks (and nearly nine decades!) apart. If you compare old photos of Elizabeth at Charlotte's age, the two could even pass as sisters.

As Charlotte continues to show off her personality, she's also revealed her playful side. In the past, the little princess was spotted sticking her tongue out at the crowd at The King's Cup regatta. And according to Harper's Bazaar, Charlotte also caused quite a stir when she barred photographers from attending her little brother Louis’ Christening.

 The little Princess reportedly said, “you’re not coming!”

Whether she looks more like her grandmother or great-grandmother, there's no denying that Charlotte is one adorable little girl, and only time will tell to who she bears the strongest resemblance as an adult.
