Beloved actor Keanu Reeves has been famous for decades, but even though he is constantly in the spotlight, he still has a heart of gold. A story about his kind-heartedness was posted on social media in 2019 when he bought ice cream at a movie theater just so he could sign the receipt for a shy fan.

James Dator was working in a cinema as a teenager in Sydney, Australia when Reeves came in to watch “From Hell”, his colleague Johnny Depp’s movie. Dator was completely starstruck and attempted to ask him for his autograph, but he bumbled through it and completely failed. However, he didn’t get a chance to wallow in his embarrassment because what Keanu did next was probably the best nice guy move ever. The 2001 story was recounted on Dator’s Twitter.

Dator first attempted to get his autograph by asking him to sign his employee sheet after offering an employee discount. However, this sneaky ploy didn't work since honest Keanu just replied with "I don't work here."

The despondent teen watched Keanu walk away only to return a few minutes later with a signed receipt. Dator writes about what happened next:

“I realized you probably wanted my autograph,” he says. “So I signed this.” He hands me a receipt from the concessions stand that he signed on the back. He then casually throws an ice cream cone in the trash can and sees his movie." said his tweet.
