The winds of the severe storm reached a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour, immediately sending Whelan into a state of panic over the family's home. She decided to drive up to the lake to check out the damage. What she found shocked her and her family.

When they arrived at the house, they found it completely encased in a solid four feet of ice. The winds had whipped up the lake, sending waves crashing into the house and freezing in place.

Although Whelan's house is located 50 feet from the shore, it was still close enough to bear the brunt of this storm. What is more shocking is that the neighboring homes were left untouched.

Whelan is concerned that there will be extensive structural damage to the home when the ice finally begins to melt.
