Family Worries Their Cat Died In Fire Until They Hear Soft Meowing In The Distance

Few life events are devastating as a catastrophic fire. Losing everything that you've worked so hard for feels like the end of the world. One woman, however, found everything as she searched through the ruins of her Napa Valley home in 2017. Everything – for Laura Ringenberger – was her Kitty Kitty Star whom she had believed to have died in the fire.

Laura Ringenberger and her family live in Napa County, California. This region is known for its wine and boasts some breathtaking scenery. Laura's home was surrounded by lush vegetation and colorful flowers.
One evening, the Ringenberger family was doing something familiar for families. They were enjoying the remaining few hours of daylight together. They revelled in the magic of the fading light.

Then, the phone rang, as The Dodo reports. This disruption put an end to their beautiful evening together. The wildfires were raging, and the family was ordered to evacuate immediately.
Such calls are an unfortunate reality for residents in this part of California, yet Laura and her husband thought they'd get a quick look at the situation. As they glanced outside their home, they knew that they needed to act right now.
Immediately, the Ringenbergers sprang into action. The children were immediately sent out with other family members. Laura's husbands then went next door to check on their elderly neighbours.
While her husband was away, Laura began searching for her cat. After 15 to 20 minutes of calling for Kitty Kitty Star, the calico cat, Laura gave up this futile effort, as she told The Dodo in an interview. She had to leave the scene or lose her own life.
A few days later, as The Dodo reports, Laura returned to find her home burned to the ground. As she walked through the devastation, she heard a noise coming from the rubble. In a few seconds, her beloved feline companion came running to her.
