Family Vows To Help Give Abandoned Dog With Terminal Cancer His Ultimate Life

Crystal Lake, Illinois residents Jenny Leech and her husband decided to make a promise: that every day their dog Theo had left would be a good one regardless of his cancer diagnosis. Leech and her husband took Theo in on May 27, 2020.

While some people claim that cats have nine lives, Theo is an adorable pup that proves dogs can have a second chance at life too. He lived a long and sad life, but his family and fans aren't quite sure about everything he went through. After being found lost and alone in a parking lot of a Walmart, the poor little dog was lonely and didn't have much experience around people or in a loving home.

During the last few recessions, thousands of animals ended up in shelters and on the streets because their owners could not afford to care for them. We can only hope that Theo lived a happy life with a family who loved him until they didn't have a choice by abandoning him. As reported by WGN News, given his medical problems, there's a chance that his family knew he was sick but didn't know what to do and decided to leave him on the street.

Maybe they even thought and hoped that his next owners would know what to do and have the funds to care for him. They likely did the right thing as Theo is now an internet superstar with a loving family.

After his discovery in Walmart, a kind soul took him in and began looking for his next foster family. Jenny Leech stepped up and took him into her home. She knew after looking at his face just once that he needed a good family and someone who loved him as well as a new best friend.

That became even clearer when Leech took Theo in for a checkup and learned about his condition.

The veterinarian discovered that poor Theo wasn't the young pup that some thought and that he was actually a senior dog at 12 years of age, as you'll learn in the video below. He also received a cancer diagnosis, which means that he only has a few years left. While Leech and her husband only planned on fostering Theo until they could find his forever home, they've now decided to keep him and become his only home.

They want to make sure that he has everything that he needs and that he lives out the rest of his life in peace and quiet with a family who loves him. Leech thinks that Theo knows that he's loved because of how happy he is around their house.

Theo loves his new family just as much as they love him. This adorable little dog loves wagging his tail and getting some cuddles when he's not out living his best life. Leech and her husband decided that humans aren't the only ones who need a bucket list and created one for Theo, too.

Every day that he has left brings something new and different not to mention exciting. According to CTV News, he now gets to sample ice cream and hamburgers as well as go on skydiving trips.

Thanks to Leech and her husband, Theo is now a viral sensation. The couple shared his adventures and journeys online to show that older and sick dogs need love and care as much as healthy puppies do. They get letters from people around the world who watched the videos and wanted to share words of encouragement.

It's clear from those letters that more people love Theo than just his family. Dozens of people fall in love with his touching story every day.
