Family Thought Cat Was Lost In Wildfire - Until It Came Running Up To Them Through The Debris

Dec 14, 2018 by apost team

Courtney Werblow thought she and her family had lost everything. The recent fires that burned their way through California destroyed their home in the northern part of the state. On top of that, the family's cat, Timber, was lost in the fire zone.

The kitty had wandered off before the family had to evacuate. Though devastated at having to leave without her, they had no choice but to flee. They made it to safety but couldn't stop worrying about the family member they'd left behind. They didn't know if she'd survived the flames or if they'd ever see her again. They feared the worst.

A month later, a miracle occurred.

Courtney and her family returned to where their house used to stand. Like so many Californians affected by Camp Fire, they'd lost everything.Make that almost everything. Amidst the devastation and wreckage, they discovered something amazing: a familiar feline watching them.

Timber, the family's beloved Siamese kitty, had survived.

She'd returned to what was left of the house and waited there for her family's return. When she recognized them, she raced over for an emotional reunion.

Other than being hungry, Timber was fine. She survived the fire and being separated from her family with no lasting health issues or problems. Now she's back with the Werblows, where she's getting all the love, hugs, and treats she deserves.

Timber's return shows us that even in the darkest times, there's a reason to hope.
