Family Saved From Blaze That Burned Home to Ground By Their Beloved Dog

The saying, “Dog is man’s best friends”, maybe an understatement, especially when it comes to Milo, a pet pit bull, who saved his entire human family from their burning garage.

The Fire

Milo knew something was wrong, so he did what any good member of the family would do - wake up mom & pop. Despite his best efforts though his mom, Carrie dismissed his cries at first and told him to go back to sleep.

Yet Milo was unwavering with his howls and licks to her face, which ultimately woke her up to the idea that something must really be wrong.

As she got up, Carrie realized that there was smoke in the room and upon further investigation realized that it was coming from the garage.

The father, Dave, also woke up after he heard his wife’s cries and immediately dashed out of the room as the dog led both of them passed the garage and outside to the lawn away from the fire.

Dave, however, had other ideas as he saw the garage engulfed in an enraging inferno and thought to himself, “I can put this out!”, so he began to spray the garage with water.

After he realized that there were a couple of torch tanks lying near him along with his welder he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and quickly proceeded to run outside to join his family who had already followed Milo to a safe place - plenty of distance between the fire and them.

The Damage

Despite their prayers, the fire ultimately spread to the rest of the house and decimated the Hansen’s entire belongings. Everything they owned up in a blaze of smoke in a matter of hours!

What is worse, the house was not insured and although they were extremely grateful to escape with their lives thanks to Milo’s intervention, the fire left them out in the cold in more ways than one.

Go Fund Me

Due to the unfortunate set of events, the Hansen’s had to face, their daughter, Adrieona, started a Go Fund Me page where she stated the situation in one brief sentence, “My parents lost everything they built in a devastating house fire!”

On the page, Adrieona went on to state that the house was uninsured because it was unfinished and the tools her dad used for his business were gone as well.

The total out-of-pocket expenses for the damage is estimated to be around $750,00 but with no insurance and no ability to work, the family is as can be expected, is having a difficult time coming up with the money.

Gratitude & Hope

As Dave puts it, “I still have my family - wife, kids, and dog - and it is all thanks to Milo!”.

No home and no work might give one the impression that the Hansen’s also have no hope but the truth is they are hopeful for the future and the main reason for it is their faithful Pit Bull, Milo!

It seems that Milo has done more than just saved his family. The heroic Pit Bull has also inspired others to step in and help the Hansen’s in various ways including through monetary means.

Sometimes, it takes man’s best friend to remind us of what is truly important and open our hearts to help those in need.
