Family Performs Legendary Lockdown Boogie Dance

The Buchanan family from New Zealand recently shared a video of their hilarious “Family Lockdown Boogie” that features the whole family in a lockdown-inspired performance.
During the current quarantine, people all over the world are spending most of their time at home. While some find it hard to adjust, others are using this new kind of “free time” wisely. One family from New Zealand, the Buchanans, created a hilarious “Family Lockdown Boogie” and uploaded it to Youtube.
For the “Family Lockdown Boogie,” the son of the Buchanan family, Jack came up with the music and lyrics for a comical song about the current lockdown situation. In the song’s music video, the whole family performs a funky choreography to the song’s 80s-inspired beat and its witty lyrics.

When the video starts, Jack sets the tone for the upcoming “Family Lockdown Boogie” as he dedicates the song to everybody who’s stuck at home during lockdown, saying: “This one goes out to anyone who’s on coronavirus lockdown… with their immediate family. This is the family lockdown boogie.”
Even Jack’s shirt is hilarious and describes how people who are struggling to adjust to the current situation are feeling at the moment as it fittingly reads “Everything is Awful.” Still, the incredible performance one is witnessing in the Buchanan’s “Family Lockdown Boogie” is far from awful!
All family members are participating in a number of humorous gags around the house. One of them shows the family crammed in front of the bathroom sink forcefully washing their hands, while Jack looks into the camera singing:
“We’re stuck here in the house for the next four weeks or so. And we won’t be going out because the government said no.”
For the song’s chorus, a montages shows all family members performing a choreography in perfect unison throughout different locations of the house from the living room up to the kitchen counter while the whole family can be heard singing the lyrics of the chorus: “Incarcerated, blood-related, family lockdown boogie.”
Staying true to classic hip-hop music videos, one scene has the Buchanan family wearing hoodies and sunglasses with serious expressions on their face while Jack sings:
“What a treat it is to be locked down with these three because we can’t get on each other’s nerves if we’re dancing constantly.”
Throughout the whole video, the family keeps changing their outfits, from elegant evening attire to comfortable bathrobes, and somehow they are all rocking every look!
Towards the end of the song, the family makes their way outdoors performing the last chorus on their balcony. The Buchanans sing “Family lockdown boogie” for the last time before camera fades to black and they start to walk back inside.
